In the latest cricket news, Experienced Australian spinner Nathan Lyon has signed with Lancashire Cricket Club for the 2024 season, bringing his wealth of Test cricket experience to the County Championship.

Having previously played for Worcestershire in the 2017 season, Lyon contributed to their Division Two title win. With an illustrious Test career, Lyon has played 122 Tests for Australia, amassing an impressive 496 wickets. As a three-time Ashes winner and part of the victorious 2023 World Test Championship team, Lyon's addition is expected to bolster Lancashire's squad significantly.

The 36-year-old off-spinner will join Lancashire at Old Trafford ahead of the 2024 season, commencing in April, following his commitments in the Australian 2023–24 Summer of Cricket. With Lyon's inclusion, match prediction will be highly in favor of Lancashire.

Expressing his excitement about this opportunity, Lyon stated, "This is an exciting opportunity for me, and I am really looking forward to heading over to England for a full season of county cricket with Lancashire. I love playing cricket in England. I’m keen to keep learning, keep improving my game, and hopefully, I can contribute to winning matches for the Red Rose and pass on some of the experiences that I have gained over the years throughout my career."

Acknowledging Lancashire's strong squad and the iconic Emirates Old Trafford venue, Lyon added, "It will also be great to catch up with Jimmy Anderson too," referring to his Australian teammate and Lancashire player James Anderson.
